Host Universal's founding principles
1. Inspiration not aspiration: Aspiration is the bedrock of conventional brand strategy, marketing and communications; fantasies and crazy role models - out of reach of most audiences. People can be inspired, businesses can be built on inspiration. Inspiration is the founding principle of Host Universal.
2. Point of maximum relevance: A business or organization is a community, living in a culture, delivering a benefit, defined by changing cirumstances. The point of maximum relevance is its raison d'etre, its life force, its ability to connect, engage and diversify. It can be defined in one word.
3 Out-thinking: A problem cannot be solved within the environment it is created (Einstein), new learning environments are essential for new solutions - it's easy to change your mind if you dare.
4. Independent minds, common purpose: Autonomous. independent people are accountable; they take personal responsibility in an interdependent network and are answerable to everyone.
5 Two steps to a decision: Direct relationships save time, money and excuses and three heads creates dynamic democracy (two is an arguement, three is a decision).
6. Processing passion: Creativity is power, management is a system for delivery.
Close working relationships require a commitment to openness, a ‘work on the wall’ ethos and a no bullshit ethic,
7. Positive influence: Businesses shape society, have no social, geographic or political boundaries - some are more influential than governments - work with ethical, values-driven organizations.
8. The big idea: Powerfully simple conncept capable of igniting and uniting an organization inside and out, crossing all boundaries, continuing to surprise and stimulate, providing consistency and diversity.
9. Investorism: Consumerism is dead, people need to know who is doing what with their money and commitment - real people invest time, money, reputation and belief in their choices and affiliations.
10. Change-making: The world isn't working, businesses do as much harm as good. We have to change, we are here to build a sustainable economy, one that works for all people and the planet.
