Greenpeace is an important organisation. It deals with big issues, corporations and governments, on a global scale. It will come as no surprise to learn that big organisations take a lot of organising and something of the passion can be lost in processes and administration. It’s all too easy to lose sight of the ordinary people you represent when your focus is on legislation and enforcement of global treaties and laws. A host think tank, followed up by personal interviews with activists, supporters and lapsed supporters, identified a growing disconnect that threatened to reposition Greenpeace out of the protest movement and firmly into the establishment.
